Step 4: Explore Your Housing Options

From traditional residence halls to lakefront living, explore the spaces you’ll call home. Your housing preferences, selected in your form, help guide your placement.
Match Day was such a relief for me. Knowing who my roommate was and where I would be living before the summer started made the transition to college life much smoother. Plus, it gave me peace of mind knowing that I had a place to call home at FSC.

Tips for Getting Matched

Students who submit their enrollment deposit will gain access to My College Roomie, where they can explore and connect with potential roommates.

Roommate Selection

BE REAL ABOUT YOUR HABITS

BE REAL ABOUT YOUR HABITS

It’s tempting to describe your ideal self—early mornings, perfectly clean, always focused—but your roommate will live with your actual habits. Be honest about your sleep schedule, study style, and social preferences. The more accurate you are, the better your match will be.
TAKE INITIATIVE WITH MATCHING

TAKE INITIATIVE WITH MATCHING

Once you gain access to My College Roomie, don’t just browse. Start conversations, ask questions, and look for shared expectations around daily life. The best matches come from students who actively engage, not those who wait to be matched.
LOOK BEYOND COMMON INTERESTS

LOOK BEYOND COMMON INTERESTS

Having the same major or liking the same music is great but it’s not what makes a roommate relationship work. Focus on compatibility in: sleep schedules, cleanliness, study habits, and social boundaries. That’s what creates a comfortable living environment.
